Teenage Mutant Ninja Mobians 03

Yeah, I could use those suggestions, Nightw2. I may have a couple of ideas for Bebop and Rocksteady.

Guest, I ain't gonna use that suggestion of yours. I just don't feel like it.

Chapter 3: When Hinata Meets the Mobians

The next morning, Hinata was at her apartment, looking herself into the mirror. However, she wasn't alone. Next to her was a fat man with black and grey hair. He was wearing an orange jumpsuit, with a black collar, gloves and boots. His name is Jack Fenton, Hinata's boss and a part-time scientist dealing with ghosts. The man came to see Hinata, bringing with him his son, Danny. The latter was sitting on a chair, reading a magazine.

"Hinata, you should have called me last night!" Jack exclaimed. "Sorry if I seem like I'm overreacting, but I'd like to know when one of my reporters is getting attacked."

"I'm glad you're concerned over my safety, Jack. However, I don't think it would have been necessary to call you since I knew you would immediately come to see me this morning. And I was right." The young woman said.

"Well, from now on, I'll make sure the security guard escorts you to your van every night." Her boss said.

"Sorry, Jack, but I can defend myself... I just didn't have the right opportunity to do so, last night. Someone saved me before I had a chance to do it myself. Still, I don't need any help from bodyguards or anything like that." Hinata replied, firmed on what she said.

"Oh! You want me to get worried every night?"

"Don't be so worried." She said before putting a hand on his shoulder. She then looked at his son, still reading the magazine. "By the way, Danny, how is school for you?"

"Good enough." Danny replied, without taking his eyes off the magazine.

"Yeah, well, the one thing my son isn't telling you is the fact I have to drive him to school every day just to make sure he actually goes there." Jack said, giving a brief glare at Danny. The latter put some headphones on his head, listening to some music. "And there you go. He always put those headphones whenever he just wanna ignore me!" Jack exclaimed. "Come to think of it, I have no idea where he got those headphones to begin with."

"Don't be so hard on your son, Jack. He's a teenager. Teenagers don't always see eye to eye with adults." Hinata said before removing her hand and looking back into the mirror.
"Yeah, probably." The fat man then turned his head to the window, looking at the city. "Sometimes, I wonder what's going on in this city, Hinata. There's so much problems happening here. There are times where you can't step outside during the day in fear of getting troubles or something like that."

At the same time, Danny noticed a wallet on a nearby table. He knew that wallet belonged to Hinata. The teenager turned his head to see neither the young woman nor his father paying attention to him. Quickly, he grabbed a 20$ bill from the wallet and put it inside of his pocket, without anyone noticing that.

"I know one thing for sure, Jack." Hinata said. "Chief Wiggum knows a couple of things we ignore. After some researches I've done, he will have to answer some of my questions when I'll interview him this afternoon."

"Now, hold it a minute!" the fat man exclaimed. "Wiggum already has the mayor bothering me a lot. Don't go too much further with this, okay? I don't want any more trouble."

Hinata looked at him for a moment, looking a bit shocked. She then sighed looking down.

"Alright."

"Good. Come on, Danny. Time to go home." Jack said to his son.

Less a minute later, they were already gone. Hinata looked at her door. She looked at the ground before looking back at the door, this time with more determination.

"Sorry, Jack. As a reporter, the truth must be told to everyone." The young woman said before getting herself ready for the interview the following afternoon.

That same afternoon, at City Hall, someone was being interviewed by several reporters, working for either the newspapers, television, radio and such. It was a yellow-skinned fat man with blue hair. He was wearing a blue police hat, a blue long-sleeved shirt with a yellow badge on it, blue pants with a black belt and black shoes. His name is Clancy Wiggum, chief of the police department in New York.

"And this is why, ladies and gentlemen, there is no need to panic." Wiggum said to the reporters. "At this moment, we have a plan of redeployment, which shall minimize the time of response while also maximizing coordination for all patrol units and a decentralized networking project."

After the police chief was done talking, Hinata put her microphone next to her mouth.

"I'm deeply sorry, Chief Wiggum, but I don't think I've understood well enough. Could you repeat that in a more comprehensible language?" she asked before putting her microphone back to him.

Looking annoyed, Wiggum seemed like he was about to reply in a rude way. Then, he stopped, thinking about something.

"Yeah, come to think of it, I didn't understand quite well either." He said before shaking his head. "To make it simple, let's just say we've got everything under control."

Meanwhile, in the Mobians' lair, the Mobians were all watching TV. One of them was changing channels a few times until he arrived on Channel 6, where they could see Hinata doing her interview with Wiggum.

"Hey!" Tails exclaimed. "Isn't that..."

"The news gal!" Sonic said.

"Listen, Ms. Hyuga, those questions of yours are just ridiculous." Wiggum said, looking a bit irritated.

"Some sources seem to indicate there's an organization known as the Hidden Sound which might be behind this." Hinata said to him.

As soon as the TV had a big close-up on the young woman's face, Charmy shoved his face on the screen and gave it one big kiss, pretending to kiss Hinata.

"Man, I could fall in love with her!" Charmy exclaimed.

While all of this was going on, someone else was watching the news. That someone was standing up in a place covered in darkness. The only things visible were a bunch of televisions, all standing on one another and all broadcasting Channel 6 at this moment. That person in that room was hard to identify due to the darkness in the room. Whoever it was, that person was watching with interest at the TV.

"I don't see anything to link anyone to these evidences." Wiggum said.

"Is that your way of saying an organization called the Hidden Sound doesn't exist?" Hinata asked.

Suddenly, the person in the dark room threw a dagger at one TV, breaking it. All the other TVs were still working though.

"What are you talking about?" Wiggum asked, confused. "I ain't denying anything!"

The mysterious person turned to talk to someone else present in the room.

"Find that reporter." He said, in a voice similar to Hellboy, for some reason. "Make her quiet forever..."

Back in the Mobians' lair, the Mobians were talking enthusiastically about Hinata.

"She's awesome!" Charmy exclaimed.

"Yeah, she's pretty cool!" Sonic agreed.

"Definitely agreeing with you, guys." Tails added.

Looking from a distance, Knuckles smirked at the sight of Hinata on TV. Realizing she was at City Hall at this moment, that means his sai might be at City Hall as well. The echidna put his hat and his trenchcoat back on him, getting ready to reclaim his lost weapon.

At City Hall, Wiggum was done with the interview. All the reporters left, except for Hinata. She was helping her cameraman, a guy named Kiba Inuzuka, with the equipment.

"Ms. Hyuga! Come here, please!" Wiggum exclaimed from his office.

"Oh, that means trouble." Hinata said, slightly nervous.

"I'll time you." Kiba said with a smirk.

The young woman nodded before walking towards the police chief's office. As Kiba was staying where he was, he noticed Danny being escorted by cops. His boss' son seemed to have gotten himself into trouble. Inside the office, Wiggum was quite angry against Hinata.

"Okay, smart girl. Just what were you trying to do during the interview?"

"To be honest... I think you know a lot of stuff about this Hidden Sound Clan than you let it seem. For that matter, without any disrespect to you, I... Well, I... I don't think... you're making much effort into this." Hinata replied, still a bit nervous.

"Oh, sure. I'm just a big fat dumb cop who keeps eating donut like any stereotypical cop do!" Wiggum sarcastically said.

"Here's your donuts, chief." Eddie, one of the cops who appeared when Hinata was attacked the previous night, said as he came into the office and put a box filled with donuts on the desk before leaving.

"Oh, thanks, Eddie!" the police chief replied with a smile before grabbing a donut and eating it. "Now, where was I? Oh yeah, this whole Visible Noise Group or something..."

"Hidden Sound Clan." The young woman corrected.

"Anyway, what matters is it's just ridiculous. I mean, what do you expect from me? Sending my guys on something a couple of immigrants are saying might have happened in Japan some years ago? What's next? Sending them on chasing the Loch Ness Monster?"

"Hum... Not wanting to sound... disrespectful or anything, but... is this the best answer you can come up with?" Hinata asked, carefully choosing her words.

"Get out of my office, now!" Wiggum exclaimed angrily before yelping as he fell down his chair. "Hey! I found a penny! Must be my lucky day."

A few seconds later, Hinata went out of the office, closing the door behind her. Kiba looked at his watch.

"One minute, ten seconds. New record for you, Hinata!" Kiba said with a smirk.

"Thanks, Kiba... I think." She said before heading towards the entrance of City Hall.

Soon enough, the young woman exited City Hall, walking down the stairs. One thing she was unaware of was the presence of Knuckles. The echidna was reading the newspapers, waiting for Hinata to appear. When she appeared, he kept reading as if like nothing happened. The young woman then walked away from City Hall, heading towards her home. When she was far enough from him, Knuckles stopped reading and started following her.

A few minutes later, Hinata arrived in the subway. Unfortunately, the train was already gone. She sighed at that.

"Too late..." she said to herself.

The young woman stood there, slightly bored as she waited for the next train to arrive. She then turned around and gasped when she realized she wasn't alone. Next to her was a whole bunch of ninjas. All of them were wearing the same outfit. That outfit consisted of a black mask covering their entire head with the exception of the eyes, a forehead protector with a musical note on it attached to the mask, a large grey collar with black dots on it, a grey short-sleeved robe with a long sleeved shirt underneath, a black slash around the waist, black pants and black sandals. Those were the Hidden Sound Ninjas.

"We came to see you, Ms. Hyuga." One of them said to her.

"Hum... What's going on?" Hinata asked, nervous and not quite sure of what's going on.

"You are causing some trouble to our master. As such, he ordered us to give you this message." He said as he held a fist to Hinata and opened it. The young woman wasn't quite sure what he was doing until he slapped her hard in the face. "Shut up." The ninja replied.

This caused Hinata to get angry by that. She grabbed the sai from her purse and aimed it at one of them. However, that ninja slapped the sai away, causing it to land next to a corner. The young woman wasn't done yet.

"You'll regret it... Byakugan!" she said before activating her technique and attacking them.

The young woman was able to see each ninja's chakra pathway system with the help of her technique. That way, she was able to hit the places filled with chakra with her fists, causing some pain to her enemies. For a while, Hinata was able to dodge their hits as well. However, it started to get exhausting for her. All of sudden, one of the Hidden Sound Ninjas knocked her on the back of her head, causing her be to be knocked unconscious as he fell on the floor. While the ninjas were busy with Hinata, none of them noticed a certain echidna grabbing his sai, getting his lost weapon back.

"YAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Knuckles yelled as he charged towards the Hidden Sound Ninjas.

The echidna hurt some of them with both of his sai. One ninja hurt him hard enough to send him against a wall. Knuckles got back as he climbed the wall. He then glided towards the ninjas, punching some of them while doing so. Right before the Hidden Sound Ninjas could fight back, the echidna grabbed one of them and threw him at the rest, knocking them all out.

Seeing his work was done, Knuckles walked towards Hinata, still unconscious. He grabbed her and held her in his arms. The subway train was coming closer. As soon as it went by, it woke up some of the Hidden Sound Ninjas. They looked around, wondering where Hinata and Knuckles had gone to. At the same time, the echidna was walking on the rail, heading towards the sewer while still carrying the young woman. One of the Hidden Sound Ninjas spotted them and started following them.

Several minutes later, Knuckles was in the sewers, getting closer to his home. All of sudden, he had a weird feeling. The echidna turned around, thinking he was followed. As it turned out, it seemed like no one was there. Knuckles shrugged before continuing on his way with the still unconscious woman. However, the Hidden Sound Ninja was still following them. He simply hid himself in the shadows to make sure Knuckles wouldn't notice him.

A few more minutes later, the echidna was in the Mobians' lair, his hat and trenchcoat put back in the closet. Knuckles put Hinata on the couch. The rest of the Mobians were surrounding the couch, all of them shocked of what was going on.

"Knuckles... are you out of your mind!?" Sonic asked, causing the echidna to sigh in annoyance.

"Sure, Sonic. Call me someone who's out of his mind. If that's what you want, go ahead." Knuckles replied, not caring what the hedgehog was thinking.

"But, Knux... Why?"

"Why? WHY?!" Knuckles repeated, as if offended. "Well, honestly, I always thought we could redecorate our home. Maybe putting more pillows, a brand new carpet, painting the walls, putting an unconscious TV news reporter on the couch, etc." he said, with a tone filled 100% with sarcasm. "Do you want more sarcasm or if that's enough for you?"

Sonic sighed at what the echidna just replied.

"It seems to me Lois Lane would have made a better pick for April O'Neil." The hedgehog then whispered to Tails.

"Yeah, but Superman WOULD NOT fit at all as Casey Jones. Really, Supes is MUCH better suited for the Silver Sentry role." The fox whispered back to his blue-furred brother.

It was at this moment that Shifu appeared, frowning at the echidna.

"Knuckles, what's going on?" the red panda asked.

"Hum..." Knuckles said, slightly nervous at their father's expression. "She was attacked while waiting for the subway train. I had to help her."

"She's the news lady we watch on TV every day." Tails said to their father.

"Oh! Can we keep her, please?" Charmy asked, with a pleading tone.

Shifu looked at Hinata before sighing.

"Bring some water, along with some ice if there's any. Bring a sponge too." The red panda instructed his sons.

Eagerly, Charmy flied towards where he could get some water, with Sonic following him to help as well. None of them were aware that the Hidden Sound Ninja who followed Knuckles was listening to them. A few seconds later, he left, having an idea in mind. Shifu put his hand on Hinata's forehead, rubbing it to make her feel better. Slowly, she opened her eyes, as if like she had sleep for a long while. Gradually, she was able to see what was around her. However, her eyes went wide when she noticed the red panda. She stood up on the couch, whimpering in fear without removing her sight from Shifu.

"Hello, Ms.!" Charmy replied when both him and Sonic came back soon after.

Hinata turned her head towards the hedgehog and the bee. She screamed in a high-pitched voice at their sight, causing Sonic and Charmy to yell in alarm. The young woman then noticed Tails and Knuckles and screamed some more. Soon enough, she then stopped screaming, trying to calm herself down.

"Okay..." Hinata said to herself. "I must be dreaming..." she grabbed a nearby pillow and covered her head with it. The young woman closed her eyes while doing so. "I'm asleep, I'm asleep, I'm asleep..." She opened her eyes, realizing the five animals were still there. Hinata then closed her eyes again. "I'm asleep, I'm asleep..."

"Not going very well, as I can see." Tails commented, slightly worried.

"This is only a dream... None of this makes sense, so that's the only logical explanation. Don't worry, Hinata... Everything's perfectly fine. All I remember where these ninjas in the subway... Then I see some anthropomorphic animals... Oh, I don't understand what's going on." she said while holding the pillow tighter on her head, still panicking. "What kind of dream is this?"

"Listen, Ms. Hyuga. You should just sit down and calm a little bit." Shifu said to her. "I'll explain to you who we are."

"You..." She said, slack-jawed. "You... can talk? And... you know my name?"

"Well, we watch TV all the time." Charmy said.

"O...Okay..." Hinata said before slowly sitting down on the couch and putting the pillow next to her, waiting for Shifu to explain.

"I remember it all started 15 years ago." The red panda explained. "I used to be a normal non-anthropomorphic red panda. I belonged to my master, Kakashi. From my cage, I was able to mimic his movements, learning to be a ninja. Unfortunately, when we ended up living in New York, there came a day where I was forced to live without a home. I ended up living in the sewers, trying to survive. One day, much to my surprise, I came across one hedgehog, one echidna, one bee and one fox in the sewers."

"Those were us!" Charmy said, interrupting Shifu.

"You've got to be kidding me..." Knuckles said, slapping his forehead.

"Thanks, Captain Obvious. She REALLY needed to get additional information from that part of the story." Sonic sarcastically said to the bee.

"No offense, Charmy, but... Seriously?" Tails asked, arching an eyebrow.

The bee simply shrugged at that.

"I had no idea how exactly they arrived in the sewers." Shifu continued. "One theory I always had was the fact the hedgehog, the echidna and the fox may have been animals meant to be placed in a zoo but were accidentally dropped in the sewers. However, I found nothing that could confirm that. As for the bee, I always assumed it flied into a sewer hole and somehow got lost in those sewers. When I saw all four of them, they were all babies, all looking weak. They were crawling on some strange-looking ooze coming from a broken canister.

"I couldn't leave them all like that, so I decided to grab them and put them inside a box I found nearby. The next morning, much to my surprise, they were twice as tall as the previous day. Even more surprising, I changed size as well. We all started to be more intelligent. They all started to change even further. The hedgehog got blue fur, the echidna got red fur, the fox got two tails that surprisingly allowed him to fly in the air and the bee lost one pair of legs, thus only getting two arms and two legs.

"And then, one of them spoke the word 'pizza'. This was simply incredible to see. Soon enough, we were all able to speak like human beings. At some point, I decided to start training them to become ninja, just like my master. Eventually, I gave them names that would fit them." He then started pointing at each of his sons. "Sonic the Hedgehog... Charmy Bee..."

"Yours truly!" the bee proudly said.

"Miles "Tails" Prower... and Knuckles the Echidna." Shifu finished pointing them. "All four of them together, they are..."

"Mobians Forever!" All four of them shouted while high-fiving each other.

"Or anything else we like yelling at once sometimes." Charmy said, with a grin.

"Most of the times, we like to call ourselves the Teenage Mutant Ninja Mobians, though." Sonic said.

Hinata looked at all of them. The young woman was speechless from what she learned.

"I guess this is not a dream." She commented.

"No, it isn't." the red panda said.

The Hidden Sound Ninjas are a group of ninjas from "Naruto". They were given orders by Orochimaru, the first major villain of the series. Here, however, they have another leader...

For the part where Hinata wakes up and meet the Mobians, I used several elements from "Attack of the Mousers", the third episode of the 2003 series.
