TCSE 01

After reading Kingdom Hearts : The Nintendo Version and Kingdom Hearts: Cartoon Adventures (respectively from KingdomKey23 and Cartoonfan4072), I always wanted to do a Kingdom Hearts parody of my own. But since I never played at this game, I never have been able to do that. And when the idea of doing a parody of “The Subspace Emissary” from “Super Smash Bros. Brawl” came to me, I couldn’t resist to do that since I always have been a big fan of Super Smash Bros. and Nintendo. So, here’s my parody of “The Subspace Emissary” called “The Cartoon Subspace Emissary”. Like Kingdom Hearts: Cartoon Adventures, this story is gonna star classic cartoon characters and modern cartoon characters. And Mario will be played by none other than my most favorite fictionnal character of all-time!

Warning: This fanfic is rated T mostly because of swearing since there is characters from The Simpsons, Futurama, Family Guy and South Park. If you don’t like story with swearing, as well as violence, just don’t read this story at all.

Also, despite the title of this chapter, there won’t be any reference to “Rabbit Fire”, “Rabbit Seasonning” and “Duck! Rabbit! Duck!” here.

Chapter 1: Rabbit Season, Mouse Season

Somewhere, somewhen, somehow, there is a world where any cartoon characters that you could know was living there. They were living in their original countries from the cartoon series they are originally from. For example, if you are looking for Scrooge McDuck, you have to go to Duckburg. If you are looking for Superman, you have to go to Metropolis. If you are looking for Sonic the Hedgehog, you have to go to Station Square (Oh! And video game characters are living there as well.). And so on and so forth, you probably got the idea…

Anyway, since three years, a big tournament happened once per year. A tournament where any kind of cartoon characters (hero or villain) can face each other in a battle where everything could happen. A tournament called… Super Smash Bros.! Originally, it was a tournament organized by a mysterious being named Master Hand where eight chosen champions (with also four other champions added later) were fighting each other for fun on arenas based on their respective homeworld. This unexpecting tournament was so successful that Master Hand decided to do another one exactly one year later (In cartoon years, of course. In human years, it took an average of two years.). Again, this event, called Super Smash Bros. Melee, was even more successful. There was also twice more of champions that year (25, to be exact), including some villains. This second tournament took place one year ago (In cartoon years again. In human years, it took SIX years before we could have that third tournament! What the heck! At least, it was well worth the wait. Though I have to admit there was some characters I would like to see in the game. Oh well, maybe in the fourth game, if there will be another one…).

So, anyway, today is the big day. The first battle of the third Super Smash Bros. tournament, named Brawl this time, is finally arrived. But it will be far more different than the first two…

In a very huge midair stadium, a lot of people were here to see the first battle. It was quite exciting. The first battle of this very-long awaited third tournament! Featuring two smash veterants! The spectators couldn’t wait any longer to see that. Particularly two young women in a spectator booth specifically made for official fighters who were coming in the stadium only to watch the fight, not to fight.

The first women was an Arabian princess with very long brown hairs and brown eyes. She was wearing a blue jewel head piece on her head, blue midriff top, blue baggy pants and yellow arabian shoes. Her name is Jasmine.

The second women was, in fact, a female rabbit with brown and white fur as well as blond hairs. There was a purple band on her long ears. She was wearing a yellow tank top, purple shorts and white gloves. Her name is Lola Bunny.

The girls were eager to see the first battle.

“It’s such a nice day we have today. Isn’t it, Lola?” asked Jasmine.

“There’s no doubt about it! I can’t wait to see Bugs fighting.” said Lola.

“Me too. Too bad Al isn’t here to see that.”

“Where is he?”

“He’s still at Agrabah. He’s doing some more training before his first fight.” explained the princess.

“I see. Well, with all the cameras here, he’ll be able to see the fight from his TV.” said the female rabbit.

“Hum, we don’t have television at Agrabah. Okay, sometimes, Genie transformed himself into a TV, but other than that…”

“Well, it’s still a TV, anyway.” shrugged Lola.

Meanwhile, in the announcer box, somebody cleared his throat before talking to the microphone. It was an eighteen years old boy with black hairs and who is wearing a blue shirt, white pants and grey shoes. His name is Essteka, announcer of the fight.

“LADIIIIIIIIIIES… AND… GEEEENTLEMEN!” Then, he turned to the readers as he said “I always wanted to say that.” Essteka turned to the microphone as he continued to speak. “Welcome to the first fight of this third edition of the Super Smash Bros. tournament! Let’s begin it, shall we. Here’s our first fighter. He’s one of the greatest cartoon characters of all-time, a master of entertainment who was able to make laugh many generations of boys and girls from any ages. He’s the leader of the Looney Tunes gang, Warner Bros.’s most well-know star, and probably the most well-know rabbit in the world. Here’s the rascally rabbit himself… BUUUUGS BUNNYYYY!”

Soon, a trophy was tossed to the arena and began to live by itself. It became a grey rabbit with long ears. He has buck teeth, whiskers and white fur on his muzzle, belly and feet. He was also wearing white gloves. His name is Bugs Bunny. He was chewing a carrot as he waved to the public, who cheered him. They were even threwing flowers on him. Bugs took one of the flowers and sniffled it.

“Ah… mi public!”

“And now, here’s his adversary.” continued Essteka. “Even if they have face each other during the first two tournaments, they have been together on-screen for the first time twenty years ago in the classic movie ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit’. His most famous rival, who is celebrating 80 years of carreer this year and Walt Disney’s biggest hero. Another great cartoon legend, probably the greatest of all. It’s… MIIIIICKEY MOOOUSE!”

Another trophy was tossed into the arena. It became a black-furred mouse with large rounded ears, a peach-colored muzzle and a thin pencil-like tail. He was wearing a red short with white buttons, white gloves and yellow shoes. His name is Mickey Mouse. Again, the spectators cheered for him, since he’s a great legend in cartoon stardom. Smiling, Mickey waved them as well. Then, the mouse looked at his most famous rival, the rascally rabbit himself. The latter grinned as he saw Mickey.

“Eh, what’s up, Mouse?” asked the rabbit.

“I’m fine, Bugs! Good to see you after quite a long time.” exclaimed the mouse.

“I’m glad to see ya as well, Mickey. So, are ya ready for this first fight?”

“Anytime, Bugs. Anytime.” said Mickey before doing his trademark laugh.

“3, 2, 1, GO!” exclaimed Essteka, starting the battle.

Soon, Mickey summoned his musketeer sword before charging towards the rabbit. The latter nonchalantly chewed his carrot some more. When Mickey was about to hit him, Bugs quickly draw a hole in the ground with a giant paintbrush. Then, Mickey fell in the hole while screaming. Bugs looked at the hole in amusement.

“What a maroon!” exclaimed the rabbit.

“Yee-ha!”

Suddenly, Mickey landed on the rabbit and hit him with his sword. Bugs saw his body being vertically cut in a half. The halfs of his body were able to put them together by themselves. A bit puzzled, he looked above and saw there was another painted hole in the sky. This is how Mickey was able to land on him. Then, with a smirked, he looked at the mouse.

“Nice try, Mick. But how could ya defeat this?” From behind his back, Bugs threw a litted dynamite stick onto the mouse. Quickly, Bugs built a brickwall around himself. Mickey couldn’t threw the dynamite back to him. The mouse yelped before having an idea. He threw the dynamite stick… on the hole! The dynamite stick landed on Bugs’ head. The latter panicked. “Hu-oh!”

BOOM!

Smoke covered the arena. When it disappeared, we could see Bugs as ashes and no more bricks. Shaking his body, he came back to his normal appearance.

“Gosh! You didn’t expect that, right?” said Mickey.

“Alright, bub. Like a certain martian that I know, I’m very angry!” Bugs summoned a wooden mallet and started to hit his rival. The latter tried to avoided them, but he was hit many times. After quite a while, Mickey was dazed. Then, Bugs appeared with salesman clothes on him. “Hi! It seems like ya need some sleep. Here’s a mattress for ya.” The rabbit put the mouse on the mattress who started to sleep. Then, Bugs put a sign near the mattress where you could read “Zebra Crossing”. Suddenly, a herd of zebras appeared and ran on the mattress, including the mouse. After the zebras left the place, Mickey was even more dazed. Then, he shooked his head before being normal. Suddenly, a certain rabbit dressed like a cop appeared besides him. “Hey! Don’t ya know it’s forbidden to sleep in a zebra crossin’? Ya will have to pay for that!”

“But, sir, it was an accident!” said Mickey nervously as he gulped.

“There’s no ‘But, sir, it was an accident’ here! If ya didn’t want to be in trouble, ya just have to be a nice guy, ya criminal!” The false cop wrote something on a paper that he threw on the mouse. “I’ll see ya on the court, Mouse! By the way, would ya mind to write your name on this sheet?”

He gave him a sheet and a litted dynamite stick that looked like a pencil.

“Oh! Sure.” said the mouse as he picked the dynamite stick and the sheet. And then…

BOOM!

Smoke covered the place. When it disappeared, it revealed a Mickey Mouse made of ashes. In a blinkeye, Mickey came back to normal. Then, he summoned another weapon. It was a blade that looks like a giant key. Let’s call it a Keyblade… Wait a minute! Where did I have seen a Keyblade before? Oh! Yeah. In those Kingdom Hearts games. Anyway, Bugs saw Mickey’s Keyblade and whistled in amazement.

“Of course, like with our previous battles in the previous tournaments, ya have to use that. Oh well. I’m pretty sure I can defeat ya easily.”

“That’s something we have to check!” said the mouse before doing his trademark laugh.

Mickey charged towards the rabbit again. The latter yawned while looking at his adversary. Then, Mickey swang his Keyblade as he was about to it his rival. Then, Bugs summoned his wooden mallet again. However, Mickey was able to destroy the wooden mallet with his Keyblade. Quickly, the mouse hit Bugs’ head. The latter was thrown to the edge of the arena. He was about to fall to outside the arena when he suddenly got an idea. He took something from a hidden pocket. It was a rainbow-colored orb with somekind of cross on it. This item is called a Smash Ball. As he crushed it, the Smash Ball became a carrot (who looks like a normal one, but who isn’t). Quickly, Bugs ate the carrot. Suddenly, clothes appeared on him. Bugs was now wearing a blue superhero suit with a big red ‘B’ symbol in a yellow triangle, red slips on the blue suit, red boots and a red flowing cape. Then, he flied into the sky.

“Look! Up in the sky! It’s a boid!” exclaimed a random spectator.

“Nah! It’s not a boid. It’s a dive bomba!” exclaimed another one.

“No! It’s Super Rabbit!” exclaimed a third one.

Then, Bugs turned to the readers as he said: “Hey! Waddya expect to see for my Final Smash? It’s the same one I used when I played Sonic and Kirby in JusSonic’s version and Papa T’s version respectively. Normal that I’m usin’ that for this version.”

Then, Bugs flied towards Mickey and was ready to punch him. The mouse gulped as he saw the rabbit coming very fast… well, faster than a speeding bullet.

“Oh! Gosh!”

New York City. A lot of superheroes are living there. Anyway, let’s continue our story as we see a living room from an appartment. The TV screen was showing the fight between Bugs and Mickey, who was starting right away. On the couch in front of the TV, one person was watching it. It was a young women with long red hair and blue eyes. She was wearing a yellow sweatshirt, a purple sweater under the sweatshirt, purple jeans and brown boots. Her name is Mary Jane Watson-Parker.

“Peter, the fight is starting right now!” she exclaimed as she turned her head and called someone from another room.

“I’m coming, MJ!” called a voice from that another room.

Than, a young man with brown hair and green eyes came in the living room with a bowl full of popcorn. He was wearing a dark pink shirt, a grey vest, blue jeans and black and white shoes. His name is Peter Parker AKA… Ah! Forget it! If you don’t know who this guy is, you’ll soon learn it in the next chapter. Anyway, Peter sat near MJ as they both eat popcorn while watching the fight between the carrot eater and the cheese eater.

“Wow! Isn’t it fantastic? In the next days, you will be among those fighters, those cartoon legends. You will have the chance to fight Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny! I hope you know that you are very lucky, Tiger.” said MJ.

“Oh! I’m know I’m very lucky, Mary Jane.” Thinking about fighting those guys, Peter smiled. He has done a lot of heroic things in the past and he’s glad to know that Master Hand choose him to be among the newest smashers (Smasher is how is called a Super Smash Bros. fighter. Just wanted to let you know.). However, Peter made a sad face as he thought about something. Or should I say someone… “I wish Uncle Ben was here to see that…”

Seeing the sad face on his husband, Mary Jane put her hand on his hand.

“I never got the chance to meet your uncle before he died. But from what you and Aunt May told me about him, I have no doubt that he would be proud to see his nephew being part of the Super Smash Bros. tournament.”

“I guess you’re right, MJ.” said Peter, feeling better.

Then, he put his arms around his wife’s shoulders as they continued to watch the fight.

“And the winner is… BUUUUUUUUUUUGS BUNNYYYYYYYY!” exclaimed Essteka as he spoke to his microphone.

In the arena, Mickey was transformed into a trophy. The spectators cheered the rabbit, while his Super Rabbit clothes disappeared. Without waiting, Bugs quickly touched Mickey’s trophy, as the latter was back to life. A little bit dazed, the mouse grabbed Bugs’ hand who helped him to stand up.

“Gosh! You did a great performance here, Bugs.” said Mickey before doing his trademark laugh.

“Ya did one as well, doc. Sure, ya could have win that fight, but since I lost my fight against Superman in Papa T’s version while ya win your fight against Ben Tennyson in NL’s version, it’s only fair that I win that fight in this version.” said Bugs.

“It makes sense to me.”

Then, they waved to the spectators. Lola couldn’t help but enjoying her boyfriend’s victory. However, Bugs noticed something strange as he looked up to the sky. Soon, Mickey looked up in the sky as well. Here, they saw something unusual. While the blue sky was covered with very dark red clouds, a strange enormous thing appeared above the stadium. It was an aircraft carrier with giant wings on the sides. Bugs was puzzled. What the heck an aircraft carrier with giant wings would be here right now? Only Mickey was able to recognize this aircraft carrier.

“Gosh! It looks very similar to Donald’s aircraft carrier!”

“Donald has an aircraft carrier?” asked the rabbit.

“No. He worked for the navy many years ago while his nephews were living with Mr. McDuck.”

That’s when a hatch door from the aircraft carrier opened and releashed some purple spores. Soon, Those purple spores became green robots with black arms (no, not those from Shadow the Hedgehog) and black legs called Primids. It looked like they weren’t here for a party or something like that. More like they were here to make something… well… bad. Lola and Jasmine looked at each other before nodding. Then, they got out of the spectator booth and joined Bugs and Mickey.

“We’ll help you, guys.” said Lola.

“Alright. Ya know what they say, the more the merrier.” said Bugs.

“Gee, Bugs, are you sure we can take them?” said Mickey.

“If I can take on Soulfuls in Link to Life, these things should be a piece of cake!”

“The keyword is ‘should’, Bugs.” said the female rabbit.

“If ya said so. Let’s do this!” exclaimed the carrot eater.

Soon, the four smashers started to fight the Primids. Mickey was able to defeat the weakest ones with his musketeer sword. When he tried to defeat the stronger ones, he used his Keyblade against them. Meanwhile, Lola saw a Primid holding a boomerang coming at her. As it was about to hit her with his boomerang, the female rabbit summoned a little yellow feathered bird named Tweety which she used as a shield. The bird counter-attacked the boomerang by threwing a cream pie to it. The boomerang was threwing back to the Primid and hit him, defeating him. However, Tweety was puzzled.

“Hey! What am I doing here?” asked the little bird.

“It’s simple, Tweety. In the original game, Peach has an attack where she use Toad as a shield. It’s only normal that I have a similar attack with a small Looney Tune as Toad.” explained Lola.

“That’s weird.”

“I know. But if you don’t like it, just blame the author of this fanfic.”

“Hey! I don’t want to be in any trouble!” yelled Essteka with his microphone.

Both Lola and Tweety shrugged. Then, Tweety disappeared to out of nowhere. Then, Lola summoned a basketball like if it was a vegetable she took from the ground. The female rabbit aimed at a bunch of primids like if she was about to launch a torpedo and threw her basketball like a canonball to them (don’t ask, she’s a Looney Tune…). The basketball hit them very hard before going back to Lola’s hands. At the same time, Jasmine was fighting some Primids as well. She kicked them, punched them with all her might, made some acrobatics and use a pole to get rid of them. Meanwhile, Bugs was doing all his classic Looney Tunes stuff: dynamite, painted trap, wooden mallet, defying law of gravity… well, everything possible for a Looney Tune! Then, he summoned a steamroller and used it to crushed all the remaining Primids. As you can guess, they won against them.

“That was a piece of carrot cake!” said Bugs.

“Look!” exclaimed Mickey as he pointed out to something in the sky.

Bugs, Lola and Jasmine both turned to see someone coming. It was a mysterious figure whose red and green clothes completely covered his body, except for his eyes. He was floating on the air by using a flying platform. The platform was holding a very big object.

“Who is he?” asked Jasmine.

Suddenly, Bugs tooked a script of the story from a hidden pocket. He took a look at one of the pages and found what he was searching.

“Accordin’ to the script, his name is the Ancient Minister.” Then, he threw the script away and whispered to the readers: “It’s always fun to break the fourth wall!”

Then, the figure, now know as the Ancient Minister, dropped the the very big object on the ground. Then, two futuristic robots came and inserted their arms in this object, opening it. A timer appeared on it. It was…

“A bomb!” exclaimed Mickey.

The Ancient Minister left the place. This guy doesn’t speak a lot, isn’t it? Anyway, Bugs didn’t wait any longer as he rushed to the bomb.

“I’ll take care of this, guys.” he said to his friends. However, the rabbit stopped running when he heard something behind him. Bugs turned and saw…

BANG!

A cannonball hit the carrot eater, sending him flying far into the air.

“Of course, ya know this means w…”

The rabbit disappeared of the horizon.

“Bugs!” exclaimed the mouse.

Mickey ran a bit to help his friend/rival before stopping. It was not good at all.

“Mickey! Help us!”

The mouse turned and saw something bad. Lola and Jasmine were both caught in cages made of steel. Those cages were holding by a large creature. It was a very tall creature made only of red hair. The only clothes he was wearing were black and white shoes. His name is Gossamer. He roared furiously to Mickey. It was REALLY not good at all!

“Gosh! Hum… Don’t worry, ladies. I’ll save you.” said the mouse as he was about to fight the Looney Tunes monster.

First, Mickey took his musketeer sword, ran towards the monster and tried to cut his fur. However, Gossamer tried to hit the mouse with the cages. After avoiding them, Mickey thought that the Keyblade might be better. Using it, the mouse stabbed the red-furred monster many times. Suddenly, Gossamer crushed him with the cages. A little bit dazed, Mickey decided to do something else.

“Gosh! I better end it now.”

Then, Mickey summoned a Smash Ball and broke it. Then, his clothes changed to something else. The mouse was now wearing a red cloak and a blue hat with white stars and a white crescent moon. With his hands, he made a big rock appearing under him. Some familiar classical music was heard in the background. Mickey made some moves with his hands. Water splashed near the rock. Mickey pointed to Gossamer. Then, the water hurt the monster very badly. With a final strike, Mickey shooted some lightning balls on Gossamer, defeating him and destroying the cages. Jasmine jumped from her cage and landed near the mouse, who found his clothes back to normal. The big rock disappeared.

“Thank you, Mickey.” said Jasmine.

“No problem, Jasmine.” said the mouse before doing his trademark laugh.

Suddenly, someone gripped Mickey’s neck. It turned out it was Gossamer! What the…? Didn’t he have been beaten a few seconds ago? Anyway, Mickey gulped as he saw the monster, more furious than never. Let’s say that the mouse didn’t know what to do.

“Mickey! Just remember what Bugs did with him before!” exclaimed Jasmine.

Thinking about it, Mickey was able to find a solution. He remembered what Bugs did with Gossamer before. Then, he whispered to the monster.

“Tell me, did you ever have the feeling you were being watched?” Suddenly, Gossamer’s face changed from anger to anxiety. Mickey pointed to the spectators. “Look! Out there in the audience…”

Slowly, Gossamer took a look at the spectators. And…

“PEOPLE!” screamed Gossamer, dropping the mouse to the ground. “AAAAAAAAHHHHH!” he screamed as he ran through a series of wall, breaking them and leaving his cartoon outline on them.

“Gosh! That was close!” said Mickey. Suddenly, they heard a THUD as they turned their heads. Then, they saw a little man with big red mustaches who is wearing a black thin-strip mask, a beige cowboy hat, brown long-sleeved shirt, yellow bandanna, black belt with a yellow belt buckle, blue pants and black boots. In his hands, he was holding a big cannon. “Sam!” exclaimed the mouse.

“Yeah! Yosemite Sam! The roughest, toughest, he-man stuffest hombré that’s ever crossed the Rio Grande. And I ain’t no namby-pamby!” yelled the little man.

“What are you doing here?” asked Jasmine.

“I’m here to do some trophies collecting. And YOU TWO will be my trophies!” exclaimed Sam as he aimed his cannon to Mickey and Jasmine. Suddenly, he realized there was someone behind him. He turned and saw Lola laying on the ground, stumbling from the destroyed cage. Sam grinned. “That vermint’s girlfriend? MUCH more better! I can’t wait to see that rabbit’s face when he’ll see that I changed his sweetheart into a trophy!” he said with a laugh. The outlaw aimed his cannon to the female rabbit. “Say hello to my lil’ friend!” He shooted a black arrow who went directly towards Lola. The latter wasn’t fast enough to run away from the arrow. And then, the arrow touched her… and transformed her into a trophy. Sam came right near her and put her over his shoulder. He turned to see the mouse and the princess. “See you next time, losers!”

Sam ran away with his prize. However, Jasmine and Mickey weren’t the kind of persons who would let him escape.

“Releashed Lola, Sam!” exclaimed Jasmine furiously.

“Yeah! Or you… Gosh! The bomb!”

Mickey suddenly realized that the bomb was still working… and was about to exploded!

5… 4… 3… 2… 1…

BOOM!

Soon, an gigantic dark sphere covered the whole stadium. Then, we see Mickey and Jasmine flying away from the sphere. How they were able to do that? They were riding a purple, red and yellow magic carpet.

“You arrived just in time, Carpet. Thanks!” said Jasmine to the carpet. The latter made a movement, meaning that he was glad to help his friend. However, the princess was worried. “I wonder why Donald’s aircraft carrier releashed all those robots.”

“I have no idea myself, Jasmine. I know Donald since so many years and I don’t know if he has something to do with that event.” said the mouse.

Then, they noticed that they weren’t the only ones who were riding Carpet. A certain author was here as well.

“Hi! How are you?” asked Essteka as he waved his hand stupidly to them.

“What are you doing here? asked Jasmine.

“Hey! Do you think I’m stupid enough to not think of escaping this stadium before the bomb explodes? No way! I have a story to write and there’s no bomb who could stop me to write it! By the way, does it mind you to drop me at my house?”

“It depends. Where do you live?” asked Mickey.

“Oh! Not so far. In fact, my house is just right here!” said the author as he pointed to a house below them.

“Alright. We’ll make a stop to drop you here.” said the princess.

“You don’t have to. I’m gonna jump and fall right through the chimney like Santa Claus.”

“But you’re gonna kill yourself!” exclaimed the mouse.

“Don’t worry, Mickey. It’s a fanfiction. Anything can happen! GERONIMO!” yelled Essteka as he jumped and fall right through the chimney. After a big CRASH!, he was a little bit dazed. Then, Essteka walked some more and sat on the chair near his computer. In a text, he wrote the following words: End of chapter.

End of chapter.

Not bad, huh? I think I’m gonna have a lot of fun with this one! Next time, we’ll see what happened to Bugs.

BTW, Donald’s aircraft carrier is a reference to DuckTales where he was working for the navy while Scrooge took care of Huey, Dewey and Luey.

Some references to Looney Tunes shorts like “Super-Rabbit” and “Hair-Raising Hare” are presents in this chapter.

As you can guess, Mickey’s Final Smash is based on the classic Disney movie “Fantasia”.

Sam’s line “Say hello to my lil’ friend!” is a reference to “Scarface” the movie with Al Pacino.
