Essteka's Ghostbusters 09

Actually, Phillip Clark, no. Grodus was mentionned as Ivo Shandor, the leader of the Cult of Gozer and the architect of the building. Ivo has nothing to do with Vigo. Besides, I have someone else in mind for the role.

Anyway, here's the battle against the Ghostbusters and the final ghost.

Chapter 9: The Shadow Queen

With the help of Green Lantern's ring, our heroes arrived at the floor where was Lola's appartment in just a couple of seconds.

"I have to say it's way easier than using the staircases. Ha-ha!" chuckled Mickey.

They entered the floor by going through an opened window. They all landed on the floor while John stopped using his ring.

"This way." said Bugs, pointing to a direction. Some seconds later, they arrived to where Lola's appartment was. They all noticed it was half-destroyed. "I wish it was destroyed because she's a wrestler or somethin'." gulped Bugs.

"Maybe we should follow these stairs." said Reed, pointing to some stairs that went up.

"Good idea." nodded John before they all followed the stairs.

Meanwhile, Lola and SpongeBob were both on the rooftop, standing up. They both raised their arms and were struck by lightnings. The lightnings were reflected towards the large wall near them. The Ghostbusters arrived and saw them shaking like mad. Soon enough, Lola and SpongeBob were transformed into the same kind of dog-creatures they met before. The heroes were shocked to see that.

"Eh, I hope she doesn't mind if I gave her a bone for her birthday." said Bugs, half-joking.

At the same time, the wall opened by itself like a door. There, the same parallel universe that was in Lola's fridge was there as well. The two dog-creatures went into this universe and sat on each side of the same temple seen in the fridge. The Ghostbusters went near the door, looking at it in amazement. The temple opened itself too, revealing a figure. It looked like a creature with purple skin and grey hair. Her hands were large. A huge crown was on her head. She started to laugh sinisterly as she came out of the temple.

"There she is, guys. The Shadow Queen." said Reed.

"Well, I think it's time for us to go and kick her butt!" exclaimed Bugs.

"You're right, Bugs!" agreed Mickey.

"Go get her, Mick!"

"Huh?" asked the mouse as he looked at the rabbit. "What?"

"Well, ya wanna go and kick her butt or what?"

"Hum… Okay." said Mickey, uneasily. The mouse went near the creature, who looked at him. "Shadow Queen! As a designated representive of the state of New York, I'm ordering you to stop doing any supernatural activities and go back to where you belong or you will have to face the consequences of your acts."

"Are you deities?" asked the Shadow Queen.

Mickey wasn't sure of what he should answer. He turned around to see Bugs. The latter nodded before the mouse looked back at the creature.

"Well, technically, as classic style toons, Bugs and I are both basically ageless and extremely difficult to kill under most circumstances and our comrades are both experienced adventurers. Still, I would have to say no. We aren't."

"Then, die!" exclaimed the Shadow Queen before shooting some dark energy at the heroes.

John was about to use his ring, but the Shadow Queen was faster than him. They were all hit by the dark energy, causing them to fall off the building. Luckily, Reed was able to catch the edge of the roof with his stretching arm and grabbed Bugs along the way. John used his ring to fly and also used it to catch Mickey. Some seconds later, they were all back on the rooftop, sighing in relief.

"If somebody asks ya if you're a deity, you say YES!" yelled Bugs to the mouse.

"Well, gosh, if I said yes, she would have probably thought I was lying and attacked us like that anyway." admitted Mickey.

The carrot eater nodded and aknowledged Mickey's point.

"Anyway, it's time to teach to that creature to not mess with us." said the rabbit.

They all nodded before making their way towards the creature. They took their proton gun and aimed towards her.

"Okay. Ready… GO!" exclaimed Reed.

They all blasted towards the Shadow Queen. However, she disappeared into the ground, avoiding the blasts. She then reappeared behind them, the heroes not noticing her. She was about to shoot some dark energy at them when John noticed her.

"Watch out!" exclaimed the superhero.

They all turned around and quickly avoided her dark energy. Then, they quickly blasted at her. All of sudden, she disappeared. The Ghostbusters looked around, just in case she wasn't doing something tricky on them.

"Well, folks, I think we got her." smirked Bugs.

"Not so fast, Bugs." said Reed, looking at his PKE meter. "I don't think we won yet."

"What do ya mean by that, doc?" gulped the rabbit.

All of sudden, a rumble was heard. They turned around and saw the building starting to shake madly. Parts of the building were falling on the streets. The people down below ran away to avoid the parts.

"You think you can defeat me, the Shadow Queen? How pathetic!" exclaimed the Shadow Queen's voice from above. "Choose or perish, you fools!"

"Choose? What do you mean by that?" asked Mickey.

"Choose the form of the one who's gonna destroy you all!"

"Oh! I get it now!" said Bugs, smirking. "She wants us to choose her a form. For example, if we think of Chuck Norris, then he will appear and destroy us all. But don't think of Chuck Norris. Because if you do, there's no way we'll be able to defeat him!" he exclaimed in worry. "So, empty your heads. Don't think of anythin' at all."

"The choice has been made!" exclaimed the Shadow Queen.

"Whoah!" yelled Bugs. "Hold on a minute! We haven't choose anythin' yet!" exclaimed the rabbit. He didn't notice Mickey's concerned face. "I haven't choose anythin'! Reed, did you?"

"No!" replied Mr. Fantastic.

"And you, John?"

"Not at all!" replied the Green Lantern.

"Ya see? None of us choose anythin'!" Suddenly, the rabbit realized something. Reed and John also realized something. They turned and looked at Mickey. The mouse gulped. "Mickey… Don't tell me…"

"I am sincerely sorry, Bugs. It just came to me like that." said the mouse, more concerned.

"And what exactly just came to ya like that?"

"Look! Something's coming!" exclaimed Reed, pointing to where he was looking.

The Ghostbusters went on the edge of the rooftop and heard something big coming soon enough. Something was making his way in the streets of New York.

"Oh, gosh!" exclaimed Mickey.

"Mickey, what did you think of?" asked Reed.

Soon, they saw what was coming. It was a giant green-skinned Chinese dragon with red eyes sharped fangs, a yellow chest and a yellow underbelly. The dragon was wearing white shorts and a loincloth.

"It's Shendu." gulped Mickey.

"What?!? Shendu!?" yelled Bugs, in alarm.

"Well, I thought of something that could be easy to beat. And considering the fact Shendu has been defeated a couple of times by an archeologist…"

Meanwhile, Shendu was stomping on the cars in the streets. The citizens of New York were all running away in fear, all of them screaming. The dragon breathed fire on the buildings.

"I would say we have a HUGE problem here, in more ways than one." commented John.

"Mickey, couldn't ya have just think of somethin' more harmless like Winnie the Pooh for example?!" snapped Bugs before calming down. "Alright…" sighed the rabbit. "So, does anyone have a plan?"

Soon, Shendu was near a building. He was about to breath fire at it when…

"Back off!"

The dragon looked up and saw someone flying and coming at him very fast. Before he could do anything, the flying stranger hit him on his face very fast with his fist, causing Shendu to fell on his back. The flying stranger stopped flying for a moment, floating in the sky.

"What the…?" wondered Mickey.

At this moment, Bugs summoned a pair of binoculars and looked into to see the flying stranger, who was too far from them. The rabbit smirked when he recognized the flying stranger.

"Well, this looks like a job for Superman." said the carrot eater.

The stranger was a well-built black-haired man. He was wearing a blue superhero suit with a big red 'S' symbol in a yellow triangle, red slips on the blue suit, red boots and a red flowing cape. It was the Man of Steel himself, Superman. The latter pressed on a communicator in his ear.

"Superman here. I found the creature Green Lantern mentionned. Over." he said.

Shendu stood up, groaning. He noticed Superman and became a bit more furious. He was about to charge towards the Last Son of Krypton when, suddenly, he was hitten by the back of his head. The dragon rubbed his head before seeing the one who punched him. It was a beautiful woman with long black hair. She was wearing a one-piece gymnastic suit. The top of the suit was red with a golden eagle shaped like a 'WW' on it while the bottom was blue with with stars on it. She also had a golden belt, red boots, silver wristbands and a golden tiara on her head with a red star on it. Her name is Wonder Woman. Shendu breathed fire towards her, but she was quick enough to avoid it. She then punched him three times, causing the dragon to fall on his knees.

"Looks like John was right." she commented.

Shendu was more furious than ever. Then, a red blur was running fast on the streets, going towards the dragon. The blur climbed on Shendu faster than anything and punched him several times, faster than the speed of sound. Annoyed by the red blur, Shendu attempted to punch it, but the blur quickly down the dragon before he could be hitten. The blur stopped being fast, revealing himself. It was a man in a red suit with yellow marks on his arms and at the middle of his body. There were also two yellow lightnings, one on each side of his head, and a yellow lightning logo on his chest. The man also had two yellow boots. He was known as the Flash.

"Hey, you didn't think of starting the party without me, did you?" asked Flash, smirking.

"So, John…" began to say Bugs. "This is what Reed and you were doing at the phone? Calling some superhero pals?"

"Reed had a feeling that we would have to fight a creature. So, he convinced me to call some of members of the League." explained John.

"The people I call should be here any moment now." commented Reed.

"Flame on!" Everyone turned and saw a man with a body covered in fire. It was Johnny Storm AKA the Human Torch AKA Reed's brother-in-law. Shendu breathed fire towards Johnny. "I think it's time to fight fire with fire." said the fire-powered superhero.

Johnny flied around the dragon several times, trying to dazzle him. However, Shendu punched the Human Torch, sending him through the window of a building. The latter groaned in pain. His fire form disappeared, revealing himself to be a man with blond hair and wearing the same outfit as Reed. The dragon turned around and saw both Superman and Wonder Woman flying towards him. Shendu waited. Then, when they were close enough, Shendu crushed them with his hands. Both superheroes were dazzled and about to fall on the ground. Suddenly, somekind of force field surrounded them and dropped them gently on the ground.

"What the…?" wondered Flash. He looked around and noticed a woman with blond hair and wearing the same outfit as Reed and Johnny concentrating all her mind on the force field. Her name is Susan Storm AKA the Invisible Woman AKA Reed's wife AKA Johnny's sister. "Oh, I see." Then, Shendu roared loudly. He was about to walk on a little boy nearby. Not wasting any time, Flash ran fast and grabbed the boy before the dragon could crush him. "Hey! Watch your steps, lizard lisps!" snapped the red-wearing superhero.

The dragon wasn't going to stop his rampage. He was about to strike once more…

"It's clobberin' time!" Shendu turned around and saw a man made of rock and wearing blue shorts jumping from the edge of a building and landing on the dragon's head. Due to the man's weight, it caused the dragon to fall on his back. The man, known as Ben Grimm AKA the Thing landed nearby. "Good! I was looking for some action for a while now. Glad to see Stretch was right about it." he said, smirking.

"It's a good thing we took the precaution of calling ahead for back-up, because it will take me a little bit to come up with a workable plan and we will need every second the rest of the Fantastic Four and every available Justice League member can get us." commented Reed.

"Eh, the Justice League and the Fantastic Four teamin' up together. That's one heck of a dream for a comic book fan." commented Bugs.

Johnny stood up from where he was, still groaning in pain.

"Are you okay, Johnny?" asked Susan.

"Yeah, yeah… I'm a bit okay, sis." replied the Human Torch.

"What's up with you, flame-head? Did you get a headache or something? Your big ego can't take it anymore?" asked Ben.

"Ah, shut up, big rock." replied Johnny in annoyance.

"Guys, it's not a good time for that." sighed Susan. "We have a dragon to stop, which is more important."

"Alright, let's go. Flame on!" he exclaimed as he went back to his fire form.

Both Johnny and Ben charged towards the dragon.

"Thanks to catching us in our fall." said Wonder Woman to Susan as she flied near the Invisible Woman.

"Oh, it was nothing." she said with a smile.

"If you said so." said Superman, smiling and also flying near her. "Now, let's take care of that dragon."

They all nodded before charging towards Shendu as well. Meanwhile, Reed was trying to find an idea. Suddenly, he found it.

"I got it. I have an idea, but I'm unsure of it."

"What is it?" asked Mickey.

"The door swings both way. So, we have to reverse the particle flow through the gate."

"And how are we gonna do that?" asked John.

"By crossing the streams." answered Mr. Fantastic.

"What? We have to save the world by doin' the one thing ya told us NOT to do?" asked Bugs, a bit shocked.

"Unfortunately, yes. On the other hand, there's still a small chance that we'll be able to survive. Small, but still a chance."

The other Ghostbusters thought about it for a moment.

"Eh, why not? Since it's the only idea we have…" shrugged the rabbit.

Meanwhile, despite all the efforts of the other superheroes, Shendu arrived near the building with the Ghostbusters in it. At the same time, the Justice League and the Fantastic Three weren't giving up and tried to stop him. Wonder Woman throw her lasso to the dragon and caught him. With her lasso in her hands, she swang it around, causing Shendu to fall down. The latter roared and knocked Wonder Woman with his tail, allowing him to escape her lasso. Susan used her force fields and her psionic blasts against the creature. Annoyed by that, the dragon tried to hit her. Fortunately, Sue went invisible, allowing her to dodge Shendu's attack. At this moment, Johnny and Flash were charging towards the dragon, both at the same time.

"I bet I'll be able to do more damage on him than you could!" exclaimed Flash.

"Don't bet on that, speedster! I'll obviously win." replied the Human Torch.

"That's what we're gonna see, BBQ-Man!"

Johnny shooted many balls of fire at the dragon. At the same time, Flash ran around Shendu several times, trying to make a tornado to make him lose his balance. Soon enough, Superman, holding Ben by the arm, flied towards the dragon.

"Now!" exclaimed Ben.

The Man of Steel threw the Thing at the dragon. Ben punched the ennemy several times. At the same time, Superman shooted lasers from his eyes on the dragon. Shendu had enough. He span around, knocking the superheroes away. Soon, he started climbing the building. It didn't stop the Fantastic Three and the Justice League to continue trying to stop him. Meanwhile, the Ghostbusters went near the large door that contained the parallel universe. They were about to realize Reed's plan. John used his ring to make a force field around the four of them to protect themselves.

"Alright, the time has come." said Bugs. "It was an honor for me to work with all of ya."

The others nodded before aiming their proton gun towards the temple. Both Bugs and Mickey blasted first. While using their proton gun, they made sure to cross the streams, but not without any difficulty. Soon, both Reed and John also blasted towards the temple. They also crossed the streams along with the two others. They tried all their best to get a grip on it. At the same time, Shendu was still climbing the building and was still being attacked by the other superheroes. Soon enough, the door of the temple started to glow and was soon closed by the streams. This caused the whole temple to be destroyed. A huge explosion happened, damaging the building a bit more. Fortunately, this also caused Shendu to scream in pain. Suddenly, the dragon exploded. The Justice League and the Fantastic Three braced themselves from the explosion. Many slime fell from the explosion and landed on the streets. The people ran away in order to avoid it. Russ Cargill was in the streets himself. The head of the EPA was confused about what was going on. He looked up and yelped when he saw some slime falling towards him. All he could do was bracing himself as the slime fell on him. He groaned in frustration when he looked at his whole body covered in slime.

"Haw-haw!" mockingly laughed a boy named Nelson Muntz near him. "You are all slimed!" he added before walking away while Cargill groaned in even more frustration.

Our heroes were able to save the day. But what about Lola and SpongeBob? Just wait until the next and last chapter.

For those who are wondering, Shendu is from "Jackie Chan Adventures". When Bugs said to Mickey that he should have choosed a harmless character like Winnie the Pooh, this was a reference to the fact I was originally planning to use Pooh to play the Stay-Puff Marshmallow Man. But then, I thought that using an evil and huge creature like Shendu against the Ghostbusters would be more awesome.
